Games

Fate/stay night

Genuinely what is there to say about this one. It's perfect. It's one of the greatest pieces of literature in the entire space. You (yes YOU the reader) should go on steam, buy this game, mod in the original OST and play it. Do it. Do it right now. You have no excuse. If you spend all day playing Balatro or Vampire Survivors or whatever other game that lobotomizes you and drains your dopamine you should instead spend it playing this. Do it.

Cairn

Cairn is a great game that suffers from unfortunate "Has way too much text" syndrome. I think the idea for the plot and Aava's journey is great, but she mired in having to repeat the theme didactically throughout the course of what's supposed to be a solemn solo journey through the mountain. Honestly if the game were all silent with no dialog I'd almost give it a 10/10 for how it manages to synergize its mechanical tension with its story, but as it stands its just a fantastic game to play with a story that's too on the nose to take proper advantage of what it's telling.

Deadlock

"League of Legends but it's Overwatch" is the most evil pitch you could ever give to me to try a game. I'm sorry to inform that Deadlock is one of the most fun multiplayer games I've played in a while. I guess Valve has always had it.

PancitoMerge

BUY THIS GAME. IT'S LITERALLY LIKE 5 DOLLARS. I wouldn't say it's "great" per se or that its wholly unique, but I find it my responsibility to lift Mexican games as much as I'm able, so despite it being a pretty simple Suika Game clone with a fun theme and a lot of very cool fun facts on Mexican bakery stuff, I would still recommend this wholeheartedly.

Castlevania

I got bored and decided to try it out for no reason. The bosses are dog and shit, especially compared to its contemporaries, but I found the overall level design and enemies to be very fun. Killer OST too.

Marathon Server Slam

I'm not buying this game myself but I had enough fun with the beta to maybe consider it in the future. It works surprisingly well and I liked the whole weird gambling angle they have for the loop and progression.

Anime and Movies

Akagi

Akagi is the sickest show ever made. Play like 2 hours of Mahjong Soul and then watch it.

The Muppets Show
